Three clubs still undefeated in Austrian Baseball League

Posted on April 27, 2008 by philipp

Three clubs remain undefeated in the Austrian Baseball League. The ATHLETICS, the TIGERS and the VIKINGS swept their series this weekend and stayed at the top of the standings.

UNION KUFSTEIN with player-coach Todd Fairbrother, who hit two homeruns, blitzed Luke Krahe and the INDIANS 16-6 and 9-3. They are now 4-0. DORBIRN has lost all six games so far.

The promoted squad from Schwaz upset the regular season winner of 2007, SUPERFUND WANDERERS and is off to a perfect 3-0 start. The TIGERS won game one narrowly by a score of 8-6. The second was not nearly that dramatic with VIENNA losing 4-11.

ATTNANG-PUCHHEIM had no problems in Linz. Walter Strasser led them with 18 strikeouts in game one to a 7-0 shutout in the first part of the doubleheader. They followed this up with a 12-2 victory in game two.

The 2007 champion METROSTARS got back on track, beating the CUBS 5-1 and 15-10.
