The Bern Cardinals have reached the Swiss Baseball finals for a sixth consecutive year. They shut out the Embrach Mustangs 4-0 in the decisive fifth game of the semi-final series on Saturday. Tobias Imboden allowed just one hit through nine innings to lead the Cards to the victory. Bern scored twice in the second and the eighth to give him the necessary run support.
The second semi-final series between defending champion Therwil Flyers and the Zurich Challengers is tied 1-1 after two games. On Saturday the Flyers celebrated an easy 14-5 win at home. JB Tucker and Daniel Eichenberger hit homeruns to lead the Therwil offense. Tucker combined with Reto Siegel to drive in four. Chris Blackbee went the distance to pick up the win. Jesus Martinez scored three times for Zurich.
