(0-2) Union Kufstein Vikings – Athletics Attnang-Puchheim 1-5, 1-7

The Athletics Attnang-Puchheim are one win away from reaching the Austrian Baseball Finals after winning the first two games of their semi-final series against the Union Kufstein Vikings on Saturday. In game one Werner Harrasser (KUF) and Walter Strasser (ATT) battled each other in a pitcher’s duel for the first seven frames, allowing just one run each. But in the eighth Dave Burns broke the 1-1 tie with a grand slam to lift the A’s to a 5-1 win. In the second match Miles Etheridge only gave up a first-inning run to lead Attnang-Puchheim to a 7-1 victory. Koichi Hida took the loss.

(1-1) Schwaz Tigers – Vienna Wanderers 3-7, 17-3

The second semi-final series between the Vienna Wanderers and the Schwaz Tigers is tied after the first two games on Sunday. In game one Vienna’s hurler Christian Tomsich overcame a two-run homerun by Franz Haisjackl to lead the Wanderers to a 7-3 win.
