Templiers defend first place in Clermont-Ferrand

Posted on April 25, 2008April 25, 2008 by philipp

The TEMPLIERS take their 7-1 record and travel to Clermont-Ferrand to defend first place in the standing of the French Elite League. Samuel Meurant and Evan Blesoff impressed last week with brilliant performances against SAVINGY. Both pitched eight innings, striking out 13, respective ten batters. With Blesoff back into the starter role, SENART is going to be a tough team to beat down the road.

However the promoted ARVERNES should be pleased with the current season. They were competitive in nearly every game and the two Canadian acquisitions Brett Murray and Doug Grant are right among the league leaders. It is not going to be a walkover for the TEMPLIERS.

In a match-up of 5-3 teams SAVIGNY hosts TOULOUSE. The LIONS were beaten last week twice by SENART and are poised to get back on the winning track. LA GUERCHE and MONTEPELLIER hope to close the gap to the top four teams. The HUSKIES travel to Paris to stay in the hunt for first place.
