The Savigny Lions have secured the number one seed in the French Elite League with a sweep over the Rouen Huskies on Sunday. In game one Pierrick Lemestre went the distance and Tim Stewart homered to lead the Lions to a 9-3 win. In the second match Savigny overcame two homeruns by Rouen’s Aaron Hornostaj to prevail 7-6.

The Huskies dropped back to third in the standings after the Montpellier Barracudas beat Paris UC twice. In the third matchup on Sunday the Montigny Cougars stunned the Templiers Senart with two wins. Two make-up games are scheduled next weekend to conclude the regular season in France.
