Box score

In the completion of Sunday’s suspended game L&D Amsterdam prevailed 9-3 against Corendon Kinheim on Tuesday evening to win the semi-final series 3-1. With the victory they have earned a trip to the Holland Series, which starts on Saturday. DOOR Neptunus is already waiting for its opponent since a sweep over the Konica Minolta Pioniers ten days ago.

The Pirates started Tuesday’s affair already with a 7-0 advantage after putting up a seven-run rally in the second frame of the rain-shortened part one of the game two days ago. When play continued Kinheim tried to dig out of the big hole. But only managed three runs on homerun by Jason Halman and Rafael Jozefa, which was too little too late. Sidney de Jong led Amsterdam with two hits, a homerun and four RBI. Kenny Berkenbosch went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Wesley Connor and Vince Rooi scored two runs each.

After pitching three scoreless two-hit innings on Sunday, Rob Cordemans obviously wasn’t coming back with one day rest, which allowed Ben Grover (W) to pick up the win in relief, although he allowed all three Corendon runs on five hits and three bb in 3 2/3 frames. Rik Geestman closed it out. David Bergman (L) had surrendered six hits, seven runs (3 ER) and no walks in just 1 2/3 innings for the loss. Nick Veltkamp and Duko Jansen also pitched for Kinheim in the game.
