Mauro Mazzotti resigned from his post as manager of the Italian Baseball League club Telemarket Rimini on Monday. The 50-year-old who is also managing the Spanish national team and is the coordinator of European scouting for the Houston Astros organization released a statement this morning, saying that he and ASD Rimini Baseball agreed by consensus not to renew the contract at the end of the season. Mazzotti thanked President Rino Zangheri and the Rimini Baseball organization for the opportunity to lead the club in the past two seasons. The Pirates lost five of seven games in the semi-final round this summer and missed out advancing into the Italian Baseball Series.
