Sundbyberg-Stockholm postponed, Leksand stays alive in Elitserien

Leksand Lumberjacks – Goteborg Hajarna 7-3, 9-5

The Leksand Lumberjacks cut the deficit to two games towards fourth place in the Swedish Elitserien standings with a sweep over Goteborg Hajarna. 7-3 and 9-5 were the final results for the two wins. With four games open, including two against fourth-ranked Tranås Leksand has its fate in its own hands.

Karlskoga Bats – Tranås 21-4 (7), 12-16

After two high-scoring games, Karlskoga and Tranås split their doubleheader last Saturday. In game one the Bats put 14 runs on the board in the first two frames en route to a 21-4 rout in seven innings. Chris Johansson scored four times, while Olle Oeijen and Stefan Fahlin drove in four each. Josh Clemmons homered for the guests. In the second match Tranås scored eight runs in the top of the ninth to prevail 16-12. They had trailed 8-9 going into the last frame. Kyle West went 5-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI. Matt Merrifield went deep and crossed the plate four times. Henrik Johansson and Jason Enewold hit homeruns for Karlskoga.

Sundbyberg Heat – Stockholm

After Stockholm won 4-3 last Thursday night against Sundbyberg Heat, the second game of the series had to be postponed on Tuesday. The field was not playable after earlier rain. A make-up date will be announced in the next couple of days.
