Cae Santos will leave Mainz Athletics at the end of the season

According to a press release head coach Cae Santos will leave the German Baseball-Bundesliga club Mainz Athletics at the end of the season and will return to the United States to take a job as an assistant coach at a college. He came to Mainz as a player-coach in 2005 and led the team to the first national championship in club history in 2007. This year however the A’s will miss the playoffs for the first time, having finished the regular season with a 9-19 record in the southern division. General manager Ulli Wermuth is already looking for a successor and has four names on his list. He hopes to present a new head coach by the end of the September.
