LEGNANO, EUROPROMO and FORLI stayed undefeated after the second game day in the Italian Softball League.

AMGA celebrated a 12-0 and an 8-0 shutout against MACERATA. Rita Dominici had four RBI overall in the two victories. Kate Judd and Daniela Castellani each scored four runs. Lindsey Cameron had five hits for MOSCA. Aimee Murch struck out eight in seven seven-hit innings in game two. Her opponent on the mound, Megan MacKenzie even topped the strikeout total with nine, but also was charged with eight runs (2 ER) on seven hits.

The struggles of last season’s regular season winner BOLLATE continued with two losses against PARMA. CASSA PADANA scored three runs in the top of the seventh in game one without a RBI. SANOTINT tried to rally in the bottom and cut the deficit through a two-run shot by Brenda DeBlaes. But they could not tie the contest. The second part of the doubleheader was decided early. PARMA scored nine runs in the first two frames against Lara Ceccetti and put points on the board in every of the five innings to win 14-0. Cecilia Copercini got four RBI. Andrea Montanari reached home four times.

FORLI registered their third and fourth win of the season against DES CASERTA. Sabrina DelMastio scored twice in a 3-1 victory in the first match on Saturday. Leslie Malerich struck out seven in four relief innings for the save. The second game was more lopsided as FIORINI got an 11-0 shutout. Irene Lolli had four RBI. Stephanie Ray scored three runs and drove in two. CASERTA only had one Baserunner during the five innings.

The new team from San Marino also started perfect into the year. EUROPROMO defeated NUORO twice through shutouts. They won the first one through a solid performance of Karen Paviotti 5-0 with Ambra Collina hitting a homerun and scoring two runs overall. The second game featured a pitchers duel between Ashley Hamby and Jocellin McCallum. Both struck out twelve in seven innings. However Hamby got the win, as she only gave up one hit and a walk.

Bollate – Parma 2-3, 0-14 (5)
