Telemarket Rimini blew a 7-2 lead in a 7-8 loss to Cariparma Parma on Wednesday night and with that probably also all of their chances for a participation in the Italian Baseball Series. The Pirates are now 0-4 in the semi-final round of the IBL, while Parma improved to 2-2.

After Rimini’s big rally in the third, where Jhonny Carvajal and Mario Chiarini homered, Cariparma slowly got back into the game, tied it in the seventh on a two-run single by Riccardo Bertagnon and won it one frame later through Juan Camilo’s go-ahead homerun.

Gustavo Martinez (PAR) allowed eight hits, seven runs and four bb in just 2 2/3 innings against his former teammates. Jim Brower (RIM) gave up nine hits, five runs and two bb in six-plus innings. Marco Grifantini (W) received the win, Chris Di Roma (L) the loss.

Mattia Reginato had put Fortitudo ahead in the second with a two-run shot over the fence in left field, but the Titans tied the contest moments later on two-run single by Carlos Duran in the third.

Henry Bonilla (SMA) allowed five hits, two runs and a walk in 7 1/3 innings, striking out eight. Jesus Matos (BOL) conceded six hits, two runs and three bb in seven innings. Victor Moreno (W) picked up the win.
