Head coach Leo Voogd has stepped down from his post with the seventh-ranked Hoofdklasse club ADO The Hague immediately according to a report on Honkbalsite.com. The 42-year-old, who was at the helm since October 2008, cited financial matters as reason for resigning. The former pitcher said that there were already problems in January and he even considered leaving before the season started, but decided to continue after ADO made certain promises. But the problems resurfaced in June. He made an ultimatum and after he didn’t receive a response he decided to go. ADO has won nine games this year and has to play playdowns later this summer to secure a sport in the Dutch head class for 2011.
