DOOR Neptunus take on Konica Minolta Pioniers as Hoofdklasse resumes

Posted on August 5, 2010 by philipp

After the Dutch National Team won 15 of 18 games in the past few weeks, including two victories over Cuba, they probably still weren’t too happy driving home from the European Championship in Germany after having to settle for second place for the first time since 1997.

Now the players are back in the Hoofdklasse, which resumes tonight with the duel between DOOR Neptunus and the Konica Minolta Pioniers. With just six, respective five games left in the regular season the eight teams enter the final stretch.

While the top three teams Neptunus, Corendon Kinheim and L&D Amsterdam Pirates already can plan for the semi-finals, the Pioniers as fourth-ranked club are only 2.5 games ahead of Mr. Cocker HCAW, battling for the last spot in the playoffs. Both teams will meet on Saturday.
