Even though they already played in the morning against the Netherlands, the Czech Republic came out swinging against Belgium in the afternoon game in Heidenheim; scoring eight runs in the first three frames en route to a 10-1 win in front of 550 people at the Heidekoepfe ballpark. The match was called in the eighth due to rain.

Former Philadelphia Phillies minor leaguer Jakub Sladek went 3-for-3 with three doubles and reaching base in all five of his plate appearances. He scored twice and drove in three. Tomas Polansky and Jakub Malik also crossed the plate twice. Belgium scored their lone run in the eighth on an error.

Petr Minarik (W 1-0) allowed seven hits, a run and a walk in eight innings. He only struck out two, but forced opposing batters in 14 groundouts. Kenny Vandenbranden (L 0-1) surrendered ten hits, seven runs and a base on balls in 1 2/3 innings.
