The Netherlands improved to 3-0 in Group A of the European Championship on Monday in Heidenheim with a 7-1 win over the Czech Republic. Four runs in the first two frames decided the outcome early. The two all-time games leader in Dutch national team history Dirk van’t Klooster and Raily Legito combined for two homeruns, a double and five RBI. Jakub Hajtmar scored the lone run for the team of head coach Arnost Nesnal on a RBI single by Petr Baroch. Michal Ondracek went 3-for-4.

Diegomar Markwell (W 1-0) allowed ten hits, a walk and hit a batter in 7 1/3 innings, but only gave up one run. He struck out six. Berry van Driel closed it out. The Czech team sent Jan Homolka (L 0-1) to the mound, who issued four hits, four runs (3 ER) and a walk in two innings. Four relievers finished the game.
