Greece stunned the Spanish National Team on Sunday night with a 13-9 win in Stuttgart, their second victory in the third game at the European Championship. They took advantage of struggling Spanish hurlers in the first four innings and built up a 13-0 lead midway through the fourth. Michael Koutsoantonakis went 2-for-4 with a homerun, a double and five RBI. Nicholas Theodorou scored three times. Marc Carrillo drove in three for Spain. Daniel Martinez crossed the plate thrice.

Meleti Meleches (W 1-0) allowed five hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk in six innings. Sammy De Los Santos, who pitched for the AZL Diamondbacks this season, surrendered four hits, six runs (5 ER) and two bb in 1 1/3 innings. Afterwards Remigio Leal also couldn’t find the strike zone and the game got away for the team of head coach Mauro Mazzotti.
