Italy celebrated another lopsided win with a 13-1 rout in seven innings against Greece on Saturday in Heidenheim. The team of manager Marco Mazzieri hit four homeruns, two of them grand slams. It was their second win in the second game.
Giuseppe Mazzanti homered with the bases loaded in the third to get his squad a 4-1 lead. The other three runs got on the board through a two-run homerun by Laidel Chapelli in the fifth and a solo shot by Mazzanti in the seventh. Greece looked for the upset, when Nicholas Theodorou scored on a wild pitch in the opening period. But their hopes only lasted till the third.
