CBA announces Czech Roster for European Championship, Prague Baseball Week

The Czech Baseball Association has released a 22-man roster for the upcoming European Championship in Stuttgart, Heidenheim and Neuenburg (July 23-August 1). As you can use 24 players during the European Championship it is quite possible that the CBA leaves the door open to add two more of their professional players besides Jan Rehacek to the roster.

The squad led by head coach Arnost Nesnal will conclude preparations for the tournament in Germany at the Prague Baseball Week from July 13 to 17 at the Krc facilities, a venue of last year’s Baseball World Cup. Opponents at the home ballpark of the Eagles Prague will be the Czech Junior National Team, Russia, Austria, Croatia, Israel and an American selection.

Pitchers: Boris Bokaj (Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg), Marian Gajdos (Kotlarka Prague), Jan Homolka (Eagles Prague), Vojtech Jelinek (AVG Draci Brno), Leos Kubat (MZLU Express Brno), Petr Minarik (AVG Draci Brno), Jan Rehacek (Minnesota Twins), Radim Chroust (AVG Draci Brno, also listed as a catcher)

Catchers: Petr Cech (Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg), Jakub Vojak (Saarlouis Hornets)
