Preliminary Roster for Team GB released, Coaching Staff completed

After naming a new head coach with the American Pat Doyle at the end of May, the British Baseball Federation (BBF) now has released a 40-man preliminary roster for the upcoming 2010 European Championship in Stuttgart, Heidenheim and Neuenburg, Germany. The selection was assembled by Doyle and general manager Jason Greenberg and consists as usual of players who play or have played in the United Kingdom, North America, Australia and central Europe. Before the start of the tournament on July 23rd they have to cut the roster to 24 players.

The BBF also completed the coaching staff with assistant coaches Sam Dempster, Mitch Evans and trainer Alan Dean. Evans also is listed as a player on the roster. Great Britain is slotted into Pool B at the European Championship together with Spain, Sweden, Italy, Croatia and Greece. They are actually playing the first game of the tournament at 10.30am on July 23rd in Stuttgart against Croatia. Team GB defends a second-place finish from Barcelona 2007.
