Posted on June 25, 2010 by philipp

The Schwechat Blue Bats added catcher/third baseman Brett Sandford of the University of Redlands in California to replace Daniel Hayes on the roster, who has joined Austrian Baseball League rivals Schwaz Tigers recently. Sandford, who can speak German, batted .393 with four homeruns, 55 runs and 41 RBI this past College season. With him the Blue Bats will travel to Kufstein to take on the Vikings. Hayes and the Tigers host the Stock City Cubs on Sunday. Additionally the Vienna Metrostars take on the Athletics Attnang-Puchheim and the SUPERFUND Wanderers face the Rohrbach Crazy Geese this weekend in Austrian Baseball.
