Cariparma put five runs on the board in the fifth inning to overcome a 1-2 deficit and to beat Telemarket Rimini 6-2 on Thursday in the Italian Baseball League. Marco Yepez drove in three. Stefano De Simoni scored twice. Gustavo Martinez (W) struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings, allowing five hits, two runs and five bb. Jim Brower (L) issued three hits, five runs (4 ER) and a bb in 4 2/3 innings for the loss.

UGF Bologna scored all nine runs of a 9-1 rout over Danesi Nettuno in the first four innings, winning easily. Juan Carlos Infante, Jairo Ramos and Juan Angrisano had two RBI each. Joseph Mazzuca went 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Jesus Matos (W) gave up one run on seven hits in six solid frames. Kris Wilson (L) took the loss after surrendering eight hits, six runs and a walk in 1 2/3 innings.
