The playoff hopes for the Namur Angels in the Belgian First Division hit another speed bump this weekend with a split against the third-ranked K. Deurne Spartans. On Saturday the Angels came back from a 2-3-deficit with a four-run rally in the top of the ninth to win 6-4 on the road. Ambidextrous pitcher Matt Brunnig received the win in relief after Shouta Ishinoseki allowed three runs in 6 1/3 innings. On Sunday the Spartans picked up their tenth win of the season thanks to a 9-4 score. In the other matchup in Belgian Baseball this weekend the Brasschaat Braves crushed the Merchtem Cats 15-1 and 17-2 in both games, moving back over the .500 mark.
