The 2007 champion MARLINS PUERTO CRUZ had a smooth start into the new season. They defeated CD PAMPLONA twice. Especially their pitching staff was impressive. They threw 18 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits.

Leslie Nacar started game one for the MARLINS. He allowed just three hits in eight innings, while striking out ten. Toni Romero debuted in the ninth, striking out two. Richard Montiel had three hits, including a homerun, with two runs scored and two RBI in three at-bats.

Ivan Granados even topped Nacar’s performance in the second match. He threw a complete game one-hit-shutout. Only a single in the second period denied the no-no. He struck out 16. Lesther Galvan was 2-for-3.

Alberto Casanelles (PAMPLONA) gave up three runs on six hits in a complete game loss in the second part of the doubleheader.
