Danesi Nettuno’s surge towards the top four in the Italian Baseball League continued on Friday evening with a 7-3 win over Telemarket Rimini. A three-run fifth broke a 3-3 tie and put Nettuno up in front for good. Luis Perez scored twice and drove in a run for Danesi. Vincent Parisi picked up two RBI. Daniel Gonzalez went 3-for-5 for the Pirates. The guest committed six errors in the game, but only one of the seven runs allowed was unearned. Jeff Farnsworth (W) got the win after 4 2/3 brilliant innings of relief, allowing just one hit and a pair of walks. Jim Brower (L) issued five hits, five runs (4 ER) and a bb in 4 1/3 innings. Adam Bright gave up a run on three hits in one third of an inning in his debut for Rimini.
T&A San Marino – De Angelis Godo Knights 11-3

T&A San Marino also won game two of its series against the De Angelis Godo Knights. They scored nine runs in the first three innings en route to an 11-3 win. It was the hitting show of Ulrich Snijders. The catcher of the Titans went 4-for-4 with three homeruns and eight RBI. Riccardo Suardi crossed the plate three times. Gregory Palanzo (W) gave up just one hit and four walks in five innings. Matteo Galeotti (L) surrendered five hits, six runs and three bb in one-plus innings.
Catania Warriors – UGF Bologna 1-6

The stellar pitching of Jesus Matos (W) continued on Friday, as Fortitudo Bologna won 6-1 at the Joe DiMaggio stadium in Palermo against the Catania Warriors. Matos allowed just an unearned run on two hits in six innings, striking out seven. He had only given up three hits in 15 scoreless innings at the European Cup in Brno last week. Juan Carlos Infante and Joseph Mazzuca combined for four RBI. Eddy Garabito scored twice. Yorkin Ferreras (L) was charged with eight hits, six runs and five bb in seven innings.
Montepaschi Grosseto – Cariparma Parma 3-6

A pair of three-run rallies in the third and the seventh lifted Cariparma to a 6-3 win in Grosseto. Marco Yepez went 1-5 with two runs scored and three RBI. Juan Camilo collected three hits and two RBI for Parma. Montepaschi’s Andrea Sgnaolin homered and drove in two. Gustavo Martinez (W) gave up four hits, two runs (1 ER) and three bb in six innings. Juan Figueroa (L) struck out nine in 6 2/3 innings, but also allowed six runs on nine hits and a walk.
