ROUEN and SENART had to settle for splits on day one. SAVIGNY defeated PARIS twice, but outscored them just by three runs, including a ten-inning thriller in game two. The promoted club CLERMONT-FERAND impressed with two lopsided victories against MONTPELLIER.
