Perez Brothers reunited in Rouen

Posted on March 26, 2008 by philipp

The PEREZ brothers are reunited in Rouen. Randy joins Keino in the upcoming season. The Huskies announced the signing of the middle infielder.

The 26-year-old was born in Caracas, Venezuela. It is going to be his second stint in the French Baseball League. He was with Toulouse in 2006, batting .176. On the mound he struck out 13 in 10.1 innings pitched, giving up six hits and four walks. He also is known in Spain for his time with San Inazio Bilbao in 2005.

He began his playing career in the Venezuelan and Dominican Summer Leagues (1999/2000) as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He went on to the Leones de Caracas (2001 – 2004), before making the jump to Europe. In 2007 he played in an amateur league in Venezuela.

His brother Keino is the number one starter on the Huskies pitching staff. He had a 9-1 record in 16 games (14 starts) with an ERA of 2.01 and 100 strikeouts (30 walks) in 89.2 innings pitched.

The reigning champion Rouen opens the new season on Sunday against Toulouse.
