Jesus Matos (W) and Victor Moreno combined to shut out the Godo Knights, leading UGF Bologna to a 6-0 win on Thursday evening in the Italian Baseball League. Matos went six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and a walk, while striking out seven. Moreno closed it out by retiring the last nine batters, six on strikeouts. Juan Carlos Infante went 3-for-5 with a three-run homerun and two runs scored. Jairo Ramos drove in two. Keith Ramsey (L) took the loss after six innings, eight hits, five runs (4 ER) and four bb in six innings.

Danesi Nettuno celebrated a 10-0 shutout at the Joe DiMaggio stadium in Palermo on Thursday, defeating the Catania Warriors. Kris Wilson (W) struck out four batters in six scoreless innings, in which he allowed just two hits and a walk. Eight different players scored runs for Nettuno, Giuseppe Mazzanti and Renato Imperiali crossed the plate twice. Yorkin Ferreras (L) issued nine hits, seven runs (6 ER) and five bb in 4 2/3 innings.
