The Metrostars ended the winning streak of the SUPERFUND Wanderers with a 16-4 rout in game one of their doubleheader in Vienna on Sunday. However the reigning champion, which hadn’t lost since 16 games dating back to last year, got payback in the second part of the twin bill with a 14-4 victory.

The Schwaz Tigers and the Schwechat Blue Bats settled for a split too. In the first game the Tigers out-slugged the Blue Bats 10-8, as both teams combined for five homeruns. In the second match Schwechat’s starter Jiri Gal lifted his team to a 6-2 win.

Already on Saturday the Athletics Attnang-Puchheim shut out the Rohrbach Cray Geese twice to improve to 5-1. Walter Strasser struck out nine in seven innings in a 7-0 win in game one. Miles Ethridge collected nine Ks in game two, allowing just three hits in five innings to lead the A’s to a 13-0 victory in seven innings.

The Union Kufstein Vikings won both games against the Stock City Cubs. In the first game they nearly blew a 10-1 lead en route to an 11-8 victory. In the second match Werner Harrasser led them to a 4-2 win.
