L&D Amsterdam hopes to stop DOOR Neptunus

Posted on May 6, 2010 by philipp

DOOR Neptunus started the 2010 Season with 10 Wins in 10 Games

The Dutch Hoofdklasse continues on Thursday evening with four games. The champions of the past two seasons, L&D Amsterdam Pirates and DOOR Neptunus will open a three-game series and the team of head coach Charles Urbanus hopes to stop the undefeated club from Rotterdam.

The Pirates didn’t have the best start into the year, winning five of the nine games so far. They are still in third place and hope to reduce the gap towards the top two teams Neptunus and Kinheim. Ben Grover probably will take the mound on Thursday for Amsterdam, while Kevin Heijstek is expected to begin for DOOR.

Due to the rainouts from last Sunday, tonight marks the start for a tough stretch for all eight Hoofdklasse teams, as they are going to play five games in eight days.
