Results Swedish Elitserien May 1

Posted on May 2, 2010 by philipp

The Swedish Elitserien opened the 2010 season on Saturday with four doubleheaders. Defending champion Stockholm had to settle for a split in a rematch of last year’s finals against Tranås. In game one Stockholm celebrated a 15-4 win in seven innings, before settling for a 0-10 loss in seven innings in game two.

The other three matchups ended with sweeps. The Karlskoga Bats won twice against Sundbyberg Heat. Gefle picked up two road wins against the promoted Eskilstuna. Goteborg scored 29 runs against Leksand to win both ends of the twin bill.

Similar to last year, the regular season will consists of seven game days until July 4th. Afterwards the top six teams in the standings qualify for another round robin to determine the four teams, which advance into the semi-finals.

Short recaps will follow in the coming days
