Lorenzo Avagnina had a big Double in the 4thRimini already led 1-0 after Danny Gonzalez had scored on a fielding error by first baseman Juan Camilo in the first, when they sent eleven batters to the plate in the fourth frame and putting seven runs on the board. The Pirates went on to win by a score of 8-2 against Cariparma. Mario Chiarini and Lorenzo Avagnina had a pair of two-run doubles during the rally.

Parma only came through in the fifth, scoring twice on RBI singles by Leonardo Zileri and Juan Camilo. Jim Brower (W) allowed six hits, two runs and three walks in five innings. Alex Serrano closed it out with five strikeouts in four innings of one-hit relief. Gustavo Martinez (L), who had pitched for Rimini in the past two seasons in the Italian Baseball League, surrendered five hits, seven runs (6 ER) and four bb in 3 2/3 innings.
