Box scoreAfter losing the first nine games of the 2010 season, the Godo Knights ended their draught with a 3-2 win at the Joe DiMaggio stadium in Palermo. A RBI single by Gary Burnham Jr. in the top of the fifth broke a 2-2 tie and sealed the victory. The Warriors had a last chance in the ninth to come back. But after a two-out triple by Giuseppe Sciacca, Raffaele Medoro grounded out to third to end the game.
De Angelis already had a perfect start into the contest, taking a 2-0 lead on a RBI double by Carlos Villalobos and a RBI single by Burnham Jr. But Catania evened the score on a two-run homerun by Weltin Cabrera in the fourth. Keith Ramsey (W) allowed four hits, two runs and a walk in seven solid innings for the win. Yorkin Ferreras (L) issued six hits, three runs and four bb in 7 2/3 innings to take the loss.
Montepaschi Grosseto – UGF Bologna 1-4

UGF Bologna scored all four runs in a 4-1 win in Grosseto during the first three innings. Juan Carlos Infante, Eddy Garabito, Daniele Malengo and Francesco Alaimo drove in the runs. Montepaschi only could avoid a shutout with a RBI single by Ivanon Coffie in the fourth. Jesus Matos (W) gave up just one run on five hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings for the win. Juan Figueroa (L) surrendered six hits, four runs and a bb in three innings. John Billy Diaz came in for the Orioles and conceded just one hit and a walk in the remaining six innings.
The other two scheduled games on Friday night were postponed due to rain. Telemarket Rimini now will face T&A San Marino twice on Saturday. The series opener between Danesi Nettuno and Cariparma will be made up on Sunday morning.
