Athletics try to stop Buchbinder Legionaere

Posted on April 23, 2010 by philipp

Manuel Moeller hopes to hand Regensburg 1st Loss of the SeasonThe fourth week in the German Baseball-Bundesliga opens on Saturday with a pair of doubleheaders in the southern division. The still undefeated Buchbinder Legionaere will travel to Mainz to defend their clean slate after sweeps over the Tornados, Heidekoepfe and Indians. Now the Athletics are going to get their shot of ending the winning streak. However starting pitchers Manuel Moeller and Soh Terada have to pitch better than last Sunday in Mannheim, when they allowed seven, respective ten runs.  Regensburg will counter with Boris Bokaj and Chris Paterson.

On Sunday the other two undefeated teams in the league will play at home. The Solingen Alligators are going to host the HSV Stealers, which should have Joakim Claesson back as game-two starter since the flight schedule throughout Europe is almost back to normal. Without the injured closer Eddy Stommel the Bonn Capitals are trying to defend their 6-0 record against the Dortmund Wanderers. But with starters Tim Henkenjohann and Bryce Schoening in mid-season form this shouldn’t be a problem.
