CS Viladecans won twice in week 2

The Spanish Division de Honor Softball continued last Sunday with two doubleheaders with three of the four games decided by a single run. Defending champion CBS Antorcha was off this week.

Week 2

CS Viladecans – Dridma Rivas CdD 6-5, 8-7

Viladecans rallied from an early 0-4 deficit to beat Rivas 6-5 in game one. The outcome was decided in the bottom of the seventh, when three RBI singles by Teresa Sanjuan, Shannon Burke and Stacy Besancon erased the gap and sealed the victory. Dridma again had the better start into the second match, as they built a 6-1 lead after four innings. But CS came back, tied the contest in the bottom of the seventh on a RBI groundout by Beatriz Parejo and won it thanks to a two-run double by Sara Gomez in the eighth.

Eguzki OBB Kirolgi – Krafft San Sebastian 10-9, 8-1 (5)

Game one of the doubleheader between Kirolgi and San Sebastian turned out to be a slugfest with OBB prevailing 10-9. Olatz Zubia, Aroia Calvo and Elena Ayuso had three hits apiece, scored a combined five runs and drove in six. Ana Maria Cuesta had three RBI für the guests, while Eider Rodriguez scored three times. In the second match Kirolgi continued to score, but also was able to stop the opposing attack and won by a score of 8-1 in five innings. Ayuso went 3-for-3 with a homerun, a triple and six RBI.
