BBF hopes to appoint National Team GM by March 22

Posted on March 17, 2010March 17, 2010 by philipp

The newly elected board of the British Baseball Federation held its first meeting on March 9. On Monday the minutes were published on BaseballSoftballUK.com. Since Alan Smith and Stephan Rapaglia resigned as general manager and head coach of the Great Britain National Team at the end of February, a National Teams Committee was formed to find replacements as soon as possible.

The committee consists of Marty Cullen, President Mark Salter, James Pearce, Rapaglia and Smith. While no date was named at which time a new head coach would be named, a new general manager is supposed to be appointed by March 22. Additionally Rapaglia will be offered the role of Great Britain Performance Director or another advisor/consultative role with the senior program. The committee also offered an advisory/consultative role to Smith.

Furthermore Paul Vernon was appointed as head coach of the Junior National Team and Will Lintern as head coach of the Cadet National Team for the 2010 season.
