Results Spanish Division de Honor March 13&14

Posted on March 14, 2010 by philipp

Cb Sant Boi won twice against San InazioThanks to the format without playoffs, every win in the Spanish Division de Honor can decide the outcome in the championship at the end of the season. Of course, the title race isn’t over after three weeks. But still, the FC Barcelona made a big statement this weekend for winning the title. They traveled to Tenerife and beat reigning champion Marlins Puerto Cruz in both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday.

In game one Jason Friedman probably pitched one of his best games in his career, being unhittable over the first seven frames until Javier Flores ended the no-hit bid with a leadoff homerun in the eighth. But at this point Barca already led 7-0 en route to an 8-2 victory. In the second match Barcelona overcame an early 0-3 deficit and three homeruns combined by Luis Landaeta and Richard Montiel with a seven-run fifth in a 15-6 win. Orlando Diaz led the guest offense with five RBI.

CB Sant Boi sits at the top of the standings after three weeks with six wins in six games. They swept the two games series against San Inazio Bilbao. The Astros Valencia and CB Viladecans split their twin bill on Saturday. Baseball Navarra won twice in Vigo, including a combined one-hit shutout by Juan Jose Lopez and Hector Peraza in game one with Lopez striking out 15 in seven innings. In the fifth matchup this weekend CD Pamplona celebrated lopsided wins over El Llano.

Short recaps to all ten games will follow on Monday evening.
