Francesco Rosa-Colombo

The promoted Italian Baseball League club Catania Warriors Paternò have added first baseman Francesco Rosa-Colombo (picture, playing first base) to the roster for the upcoming season. The 26-year-old was born in Torino and played his whole Baseball career for Avigliana Baseball. At the beginning of March he will make the move from the north to Sicily.

Rosa-Colombo got a cup of coffee in the IBL in 2007, when Avigliana last played there. In 24 games (13 starts) he collected six hits in 57 at-bats (AVG .105/OBP .177/SLG .105). He had much more success in the Serie A2. In 2009 he batted .292 (OBP .370/SLG .380) with one homerun, two triples, five doubles, 20 runs scored and 13 RBI in 36 starts for Novara-Avigliana.
