Templiers Senart sign 5 more Players from Bois-Guillaume

Posted on February 9, 2010February 9, 2010 by philipp

Five more players from Bois-Guillaume have found a new home at the French Elite League club Templiers Senart. Luis Aponte, who already was connected to Senart through the rumor mill, Jean-Clément Baylot, Marc Bouchard and the brothers Quentin and Romain Laniepce follow the path of the Paturel family.

Luis Aponte was named Nationale 1 league Finals MVP last fall, when the Woodchucks lost against Compiegne. The infielder with Venezuelan roots batted .333 (OBP .422/SLG .436) and led the team in runs scored (22) and RBI (19). Jean-Clément Baylot is an outfielder, who also had an average of .333 (OBP .443/SLG .544) in 20 games last season.

The Savigny Lions also were interested in Quentin Laniepce, but he chose the Templiers instead. The infielder batted .321 (OBP .429/SLG .472) in 2009. His brother Romain Laniepce, a catcher and third baseman was a little bit better, hitting .328 (OBP .430/SLG .373).

The lone pitcher in the quintet is Marc Bouchard. The right-hander had an 8-3 record with an ERA of 1.12 in eleven games (nine starts) in 2009. He struck out 85 batters in a team-leading 69 innings, walking 16 and allowing just 45 hits. He actually also led his team on offense with a .340 batting average (OBP .426/SLG .453) in 53 at-bats.
