Coaches Clinic in Norway from February 19 to 21

The Norwegian Baseball and Softball Federation (KSBF) and Kristiansand Suns Baseball Club (KSBK) are hosting a coaches clinic. The 3-day event will take place February 19-21 in the south Norwegian city of Kristiansand.

Europe-based speakers include Tom Gillespie from Major League Baseball International (MLBI), Tony Klarburg from the Swedish Baseball Academy and Minnesota Twins Scout Andy Johnson. Furthermore, Tim Rodmaker, strength and conditioning coach from the Chicago White Sox organization will be on hand.

The clinic is free of charge and will be held at the SAS Radisson Caledonia Hotel. The first Session will begin Friday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m., the clinic runs until Sunday, Feb 21, 2 pm.

The Speakers:

Tony Klarburg
Tony is the head coach of the Swedish Junior National Team and director of the Swedish Baseball Academy in Leksand, Sweden.

Tom Gillespie
Tom works for Major League Baseball International serving as a roving instructor to the various National academies in Europe. In addition he has performed envoy services in Africa and is a part-time scout for the Oakland Athletics.

Andy Johnson
Played Baseball internationally in Europe and Australia. Served as head coach for the German League Cologne Cardinals and Norway’s Senior National Team. Covers European Baseball as a professional scout for the Minnesota Twins and is a development consultant with the Norwegian federation NSBF.

Tim Rodmaker
Is the strength and conditioning coach for the Kannapolis Intimidators, the Class A affiliate for the Chicago White Sox. The Intimidators compete in the South Atlantic (Sally) League. 2009 Head Coach for that team was former Major League player Ernie Young
