Ballpark Clinic in Italy

by www.baseballeurope.com

Following the requests from IBAF in terms of field standards, many facilities have been upgraded on the occasion of the 2009 Baseball World Cup in Europe and Italy, and huge investments have been made to match these requests.

We can surely say that, at the moment, Europe has the highest number of professional level baseball facilities ever. This goal has been reached through the efforts of many and we, as Italian Baseball Softball Federation, firmly believe that all these achievements must not be downgraded or wasted.

With this in mind, 2010 will see the very first Ballpark Clinic, to be held in Rome, at the “Giulio Onesti” Olympic Training Centre, Acquacetosa, on March 6 and 7. The realization of the Ballpark Clinic comes with the support of FIBS and contributions from the School of Sports of the Italian National Olympic Committee.

The instruction for the clinic will be conducted by Murray Cook and his staff, facility consultants of Major League Baseball and the IBAF, who supervised the works before and during the BWC, in cooperation with the Baseball Softball Fields Commission of FIBS.

We strongly urge that Federations make every effort to attend. We need to make a concerted effort to improve the field maintenance knowledge within Europe.

This clinic is directed to all clubs and facility owners, as they generally have access to the fields on a day to day basis, and not only the ones related to the facilities involved in the BWC, but all those who operate inside structures with growth expectations in terms of quality of play, athletes’ health and security, sport business and fans welcoming.

In the attachment you can find the promotional flyer regarding the Murray Cook’s Ballpark Clinic to be held in Rome on March 6th and 7th. The event is managed by FIBS and CONI and supported by IBAF and CEB.

In the flyer you can find all the details and the application form will be shipped directly from our office to those who will require it. A declaration of interest from the potential participants should be sent to marketing@fibs.it by Saturday February 13th.

If you have any question, don’t hesitate to ask.
