CB Sant Boi and FC Barcelona with split in preseason opener

Posted on February 25, 2008February 26, 2008 by philipp

The two in the Barcelona-area based clubs CB Sant Boi and FC Barcelona started their preseason schedule with a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday. Sant Boi celebrated a 2-0-shutout in the first one, as Dani MATIAS impressed on the mound. However the FCB got revenge a day later. Led by Homer BAEZ and Andoni ORTIZ they won 6-0. Besides ORTIZ, the Venezuelan Jesus GOLINDANO and new manager Aldo TARIFE made their debut for Barcelona.

The two matches were also the opener of the Catalonia Championship with Sant Boi, Barcelona, CB Viladecans and Hercules L’Hospitalet. It is a preseason tournament and lasts until March 9 with a total of twelve games. Hercules won the other two games against CB Viladecans (4-0, 3-2).
