Posted on February 2, 2010February 2, 2010 by philipp

The Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation (SBSF) is planning to found a new program to improve the sport in the alp country. They are going to create structures at three sites for the most talented youth players in the country similar to the Baseball Academies of other European federations. Bern, Zurich and Wil are planned to be the hosts for the program.

In the beginning the goal is to provide monthly practice sessions under the guideline of the SBSF. Each site is going to have a coordinator and four coaches. The attending players also are supposed to form regional teams with the best going to play for the national teams at their respective levels. The head of the junior commission of the SBSF, Kurt Reinhard, is going to introduce the program at a kick-off meeting on February 27th.
