Posted on January 27, 2010 by philipp

The 31-year-old Cuban slugger Arian Quirantes has extended his contract with the MOSQUITO Athletics Attnang-Puchheim for another season. The club announced the agreement on their website on Tuesday. He is going to play his fourth year with the team. In 2009 he batted .386 (OBP .488/SLG .653) with six homeruns, 35 runs scored and 37 RBI in 27 games.

Last year’s third-place finisher in the Austrian Baseball League further announced that the talented brothers Horst and Markus Efferdinger will coming back as well. While Markus Efferdinger (.270/.341/.351) solely is going to play for the A’s, Horst Efferdinger (.225/.340/.275) will also play for the second-division club Wels Jumpin’ Chickens. Additionally other players from Attnang-Puchheim are going to find playing time with Wels.
