The Spanish National Team opened up their exhibition schedule in front of the upcoming Olympic qualifier in Taiwan. They lost 4-5 to the San Diego City College despite having led 4-1 in the top of the eighth.

Daniel FIGUEROA, Victor LOPEZ, Pedro MENDEZ and Javier ZABALAZA profited from six errors made by the college squad to score in four different periods.  FIGUEROA and Daniel SANCHEZ drove in a run each. They lacked some power as they recorded eight hits, but none for extra-bases.

Manuel OLIVERA started and allowed just two hits and a walk in three innings. Jorge BALBOA was called up in the bottom of the eighth frame to protect a three-run lead and failed. He gave up two hits, three runs and three base on balls. Fernando GUTIERREZ received the loss after surrendering a 1-out walk-off RBI-single in the ninth.

There next warm-up game is scheduled for Tuesday February 26 at 2pm local time against the Point Loma University at the Carroll B. Land Stadium in San Diego, California.
