From January 24th to February 28th, 2010 the Arizona Winter League will be played. This is an independent professional Baseball instructional league, where about 170 players overall, many with minor league and college ball experience, compete for a pro contract. Among the attendees are also two female Baseball players. Tiffany Brooks and Eri Yoshida, both pitchers, hope to hold their ground. Brooks is from Spokane, Washington and throws six pitches. Yoshida became the first woman in Japan’s Independent Leagues, being signed by Kobe 9 Cruise. Go to IBAF.org to find more information on the Arizona Winter League.
