The Board of Directors of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) will meet this weekend in Tirrenia, Italy. Also on hand are the chairmen of the regional committees (without voting rights). Among the topics, which will be discussed is the future of the Italian Baseball League. The league is going to be transformed into a franchise system, starting in 2010. The other Baseball and Softball leagues, including the youth levels, also will be restructured, pending the conclusions of the working groups, which examined the structure this summer. At the end of the weekend, we should know more about the future look of the IBL.
