All 2009 Division de Honor Teams likely to return next Season

Posted on November 4, 2009 by philipp

Last Friday the Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation (RFEBS) announced that no team out of the Primera Division (2nd Division in Spain) has an interest to make the jump into the Spanish Elite League, which on the other hand helps the ASTROS VALENCIA to avoid relegation after going 1-35 in 2009. All Division de Honor teams get the possibility to return for 2010. An official announcement is expected later this year, as these clubs have to announce their participation until November 16th. The RFEBS also rejected an appeal by the FC BARCELONA against a federation decision, which ranked the FCB in third place in the final standings due to their forfeits against the TENERIFE MARLINS earlier this year.

Potential league lineup in 2010:

  • Tenerife Marlins
  • CB Sant Boi
  • FC Barcelona
  • San Inazio Bilbao
  • Baseball Navarro
  • El Llano
  • CB Viladecans
  • Halcones de Vigo
  • CD Pamplona
  • Astros Valencia
