2009 in Review – Dutch Hoofdklasse – RCH Media Monks

During the next couple of weeks, maybe months we are going to look back at the 2009 season. We will start with the Dutch Hoofdklasse.

2009 Record: 5-36
2009 Final Ranking: 8th Place in Hoofdklasse. The team later won just one out of seven games during the playdown round against SPARTA/FEYENOORD and ADO. They had to play a relegation series against the ALMERE MAGPIES and lost their spot in the 2010 campaign of the Hoofdklasse in five games.

Runs Allowed: 269

Best Batter: Jakub Malik. The first baseman/outfielder/designated hitter from the Czech Republic batted .324 with five doubles, nine runs scored and eleven RBI.

Best Pitcher: Chris Mowday. The right-hander just had a 2-7 record in 16 games (15 starts), but managed an ERA of 2.84. He also struck out 72 batters in 98 1/3 innings, while walking 44.

Most Strikeouts: Chris Mowday 72 (7th in Hoofdklasse)
