Czech Finals: AVG Draci celebrates Championship

AVG DRACI BRNO has won its 15th straight championship in the Czech Extraleague. They completed the sweep in the best-of-five final series against ARROWS OSTRAVA on Sunday with an 8-3 victory. BRNO had taken a fast 3-0 lead in the second inning, but the ARROWS came back for a last time, tying the contest in the third. AVG DRACI went back up 5-3 in the sixth and never looked back en route to the title.

Petr Minarik (W 2-0) pitched six-plus solid innings for his second win of the championship series. Greg McCarthy and Wayne Ough closed it out for AVG DRACI. Boris Bokaj began for OSTRAVA. He was replaced by Jan Rehacek in the fifth inning, who took the loss.
