Dutch national team infielder Yurendell de Caster is going to play for the Winnipeg Jets in the independent American Association in the 2012 season according to Honkbalsite.com. The 32-year-old, who played for the Netherlands in the St. Petersburg International Baseball this Spring, spent the past two years in the Mexican League. Opening day for him will be on May 7. He briefly played Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but was in the minors for the majority of his professional baseball career.
